Warning: A single missing semicolon cost me 4 hours on a Tuesday
I was building a basic calculator in JavaScript, and my code ran without errors but gave wrong answers for every subtraction. I searched through 120 lines of code for 4 hours, checking loops and variable names, before a friend at the Austin library pointed out I had a semicolon inside my if statement. The fix took 2 seconds, but I nearly gave up on coding for good. Has anyone else lost that much time to a tiny typo, and what's your trick for spotting them faster?
