Went with the cheap poly sheeting for a big wrap job, big mistake

Last month I had to choose between 6 mil fire-rated poly or the 2 mil cheap stuff for a 40,000 square foot dust barrier in an old school remodel. Saved about $900 upfront, but the thin stuff tore in three places when the HVAC kicked on and we had to redo a whole section. Anyone else get burned by skimping on containment material?
