I once thought wireless comms were pointless... not anymore.
I always dismissed wireless systems as just extra gear... relying on my trusted wired setup for years. Then, during a deep structure survey, my cable hooked on a sharp edge and yanked my mask off. That moment of panic, unable to call for help, stuck with me. So on the next job, a tricky pipeline repair, I borrowed a wireless unit from a buddy. The clear talk without cords in the way was a total revelation... work went smoother and faster. Now I push for wireless on any team dive, even if the old hands grumble. Trust me, the upgrade is a no-brainer for safety.

Notice how we often stick with old ways until something forces a change.

Some people just love being wrong.

Totally get that, your story is a perfect example of what @anna_adams95 means about needing a push to change. Did the old hands on your dive team ever come around to using wireless after seeing it work, or did they keep grumbling no matter what?
