Tried the hot water trick on my frozen regulator in 12 degree water off Duluth, now I'm not sure it was smart
Had a regulator start breathing wet on a job off Duluth in 38 degree water, and a guy on the crew told me to dunk it in a bucket of hot water before the next dive. It worked great for about 20 minutes, then it froze up worse than before. I've heard old timers swear by it and I've heard others say you're just asking for a cracked seat. I'm torn, because it got me through the day but I don't know what it did to the insides. Anyone got a better method for cold water reg freeze ups?
