Just realized I was using thermal paste wrong on 50+ builds
Watched a video from a server repair shop where they showed paste spreading uneven with my pea method, and after testing a small dot spread manually on an old board the temps dropped 8c. Has anyone else found better results with a specific spreading pattern?

Gotta disagree here. I've built maybe 70 machines now and the pea method never let me down. That 8c drop could be from the old paste being dried out or the heatsink not seated right the first time. I tried spreading manually on a Ryzen 5600 and actually got worse temps because the paste was too thin. Pea method gives consistent pressure across the die. If your temps are bad with a pea, it's usually a mounting pressure issue not the paste pattern.

Pea method's been flawless on my last 8 builds, so I'm with you.
