A viewer commented 'your cuts gave me motion sickness' and now I film everything on 3 phones at once
Six months ago a regular on my channel left a comment saying my jump cuts made him dizzy, and 47 other people liked it, so I finally stopped ignoring it. I started locking one phone on a tripod for a wide shot at all times while I record with two others, and now I have real footage to cut away to instead of just snapping my fingers at the lens. My watch time went from 1 minute 40 to almost 4 minutes on the last 5 videos, which for a tiny channel like mine is huge. Does anyone else film with a fixed wide angle just for editing safety, or is that overkill?
