I called the Dyson airwrap hype total nonsense until a bride in Dallas made me eat my words
Two years ago I told a client flat out that a $600 air tool was just a fancy blow dryer with a fancier price tag. I was a round brush and Kenra kinda stylist and proud of it. Then a bride named Marissa sat in my chair in Dallas last summer with hair down to her bra strap and wanted loose curls that would hold through an outdoor ceremony in 98 degree heat. I tried my usual wand and the curls dropped in 40 minutes. She pulled a Dyson out of her bag and said her sister swore by the Coanda thing. I humored her. Forty minutes later those curls were still bouncing and she walked out the door without a single pin. I bought one the next Tuesday and I have used it on three wedding parties since then. So now I gotta ask, what tool did you swear was overpriced garbage until a client proved you wrong?
