That 'just do messy buns' comment at my salon made me snap
Ngl, a client last week said my updo work was overrated and 'anyone can throw a messy bun.' I charged $75 for that half hour style, and honestly the difference is pin placement and texture control. Has anyone else had to defend their pricing against the 'it's just hair' crowd?

Sounds like one person's opinion got under your skin more than it should. A client saying "anyone can do it" doesn't actually mean they could. Most people can't pin a bun that stays put all day without a hundred bobby pins showing, and the ones who can have practiced. If your books are full at $75, the market already answered that question for you.
