Visited a writers' retreat and the prompts there were better than anything online

I went to a tiny cabin retreat in Bend, Oregon last month for three days. The host had these index cards scattered on every table, each with a wild scenario like 'your character wakes up as their own shadow' or 'write a breakup letter from a lighthouse.' I expected them to be gimmicky but honestly, they hit harder than most prompts I scroll past on here. Half the time on this forum, people post prompts that are just one boring sentence like 'write about a door.' At the retreat, the prompts had built-in conflict and a weird twist that made you think immediately. I ended up writing two full short stories in one afternoon, which never happens when I'm staring at my screen at home. Has anyone else found that physical prompt cards or in-person setups beat digital lists? Or am I just someone who needs to touch paper to get going?
