My 60 hour bus trip in Bolivia taught me to always pack extra socks
Back in 2018 I was hopping from La Paz to Sucre and the bus broke down twice in the mountains, no AC and my luggage got soaked when a pipe burst overhead. I had one dry pair of socks left and wore them for 2 days straight, then realized I could wash them in a sink at a random hostel and dry them with a hairdryer. Has anyone else had a travel disaster that turned into a weird life hack you still use?

Packable rain gear is now a non-negotiable for me after a similar mess in Peru. That and a dry bag for clothes, biggest lifesaver ever. Socks are great but keeping your whole bag dry beats everything.
