The free paver sand that took 3 weekends to fix

I grabbed a pallet of free sand from a demo site for my patio gaps, figured it was a win. Turns out it was full of clay and organic crud, so it hardened into a solid mess that clogged my joints for three weekends of chiseling and re-sweeping. Anyone else score free material that ended up costing more in labor than buying new would have?

Rent a pressure washer next time, it blasts that junk right out.
