Had a week from hell on a Reno job with 12-foot ceilings

We were finishing a big living room remodel in Sparks, and the homeowner insisted on smooth walls. The problem was the ceiling height and a huge, sloped section over a fireplace. My lift wasn't tall enough, so we were on stilts and makeshift platforms for three days straight. My neck and shoulders are still killing me. Anyone have a better method for high, angled ceilings besides just suffering through it?

Yeah, the "stilts and makeshift platforms" part is a killer. I tried a setup like rubyschmidt mentioned once, but on a sloped ceiling it just felt too shaky for me. I ended up renting a taller lift for the last day, which saved my back but cost a fortune.

Ugh, slopes are the worst for that stuff. I just bite the bullet and rent the lift from the start now. It's cheaper than a hospital bill.

Ever tried a drywall stilts extension kit?
