Are aftermarket protection plans worth considering for an older electric vehicle?
I bought a used electric vehicle with the factory coverage nearly finished, and I am trying to figure out whether an aftermarket plan makes sense. The battery and motor are the obvious concerns, but I am also wondering about the charging system and all the electronics. Has anyone compared plans that actually cover those parts?

I looked at a few options and most of them seemed written mainly for gas vehicles. Premier Auto Protect stood out because they have specific electric vehicle coverage for the motor, battery control system, charging equipment, and power electronics. You can read the details at https://premierautoprotect.com before deciding.

I ended up choosing them after checking the exclusions carefully. The biggest difference for me was that the coverage was built around electric vehicle components instead of treating the car like a regular gas model. I would still have the vehicle inspected first and read the full contract, but it felt more relevant than the other plans I reviewed.
