Changed my mind on using a 4-inch hole saw for low-voltage after a job in Phoenix

Saw a clean, perfect pass-through on a retrofit that used a 1-inch bit and a flexible drill guide, took maybe 3 minutes. Anyone have a better method for fishing through double top plates?

So what's the actual trick with the flexible guide? Just bending it around the plate or something?

The flexible guide trick Jade_Singh mentioned only works on perfectly flat surfaces. My wall had a tiny bump and it threw the whole line off. People are making it sound way more reliable than it really is.

Used a 3/8 bit with a long extension on a right-angle drill and it punched through both plates clean in under a minute. Way less hassle than trying to line up a guide on rough framing.
