Found a half-finished soldering job from 2015 in a donated radio at the Thrift Depot in Akron
I was picking through a box of old stereos last Saturday and one had a board with a joint that looked like someone gave up halfway through. The iron was still on the bench, I guess. Cost me 10 minutes to clean it up and finish it, and the thing fired right up. Has anyone else found abandoned repair work inside donated gear? It's like finding a time capsule from someone else's bad day.

That joint was probably the original owner giving up on a frustrating day.

honestly i dont think it's that deep. people leave half done stuff all the time for a million reasons, not just because they got mad. could have been a power outage, or they ran out of solder, or their kid started crying. i've walked away from tons of projects mid way and came back months later. it's just a messy solder joint not some dramatic time capsule of despair. maybe clean it up and move on.
