Just had my smart thermostat ghost me at 3 AM last night

Woke up freezing in my apartment in Austin because my Nest locked me out of the schedule screen entirely, showing a spinning wheel for an hour before I pulled the batteries. Has anyone else had their IoT devices suddenly become unresponsive during a critical moment, and what did you do about the trust issue afterwards?

My Ecobee did the EXACT same thing last winter and I nearly threw it out the window.

Holding down the reset button on the side for a full 15 seconds worked for me after two days of this nonsense. I had to re-enter all my settings afterward, but the weird ghost readings and random heat cycles finally stopped. Could be worth a shot if you still have yours...

@kelly_nelson95 probably saved her sanity by NOT doing a factory reset first like I did.
