Warning: I thought raw edge denim was the coolest trend, but the fraying is out of control (and my washing machine hates me).

My buddy Dave had this raw hem jacket that left blue fuzz all over his truck. One day his AC started blowing weak and the engine got way too hot. The mechanic found a solid mat of blue lint and threads clogged up the cabin air filter. Dave said it looked like a sad little denim hamster nest in there. Cost him nearly two hundred bucks to get it all cleaned out.

Those loose threads could actually be a fire risk if they get sucked into your car's vents. I've seen similar stuff clog systems and cause overheating. Maybe try keeping the jacket in a grocery bag in the back seat during hot weather. The fibers probably break down faster in the heat and sun. It's a weird little detail most people wouldn't notice.
