Our local farm switched to bug-resistant corn and folks are divided

Honestly, I saw the signs up last week and now my feed is full of arguments. Tbh, some say it's needed for yields, others worry about cross-pollination. How do you even start a calm talk about this stuff?

Last time I tried gardening, I probably caused more cross-pollination issues than I solved. My tomatoes looked like a science project gone wrong, all weird shapes and colors. Not exactly the calm talk starter you're looking for.

Remember when my friend's garden got cross pollinated? Total mess.

My friend Lisa in Austin planted cucumbers right next to her cantaloupe patch. The bees cross pollinated everything and she grew these lumpy, bitter fruits. They were COMPLETELY inedible, like a science experiment gone wrong. She had to throw out the entire harvest that year.
