Warning: Skipping the preheat on my marble mold cost me a good piece
I thought I could save time by not warming the mold first, and the glass shocked instantly. Lost a whole afternoon's work, so take it from me, don't skip that step.

Man, I used to think preheating was totally optional too. But seeing a post like yours is what finally made it click for me. Now I’m strict about it, because that kind of waste just sucks.
