My propane vs electric heater dilemma in the winter months

This winter, I'm stuck between keeping my propane heater for its reliability or switching to an electric unit to reduce my carbon footprint. On one hand, propane is a fossil fuel and feels counter to the eco-friendly tiny house ethos, but on the other, electric heat can be pricey and less effective if the power goes out. What's your take on balancing sustainability with practicality in tiny house heating?

How about just staying warm without the guilt trip...

Seriously though! My buddy kept his apartment at 60 last winter to "save energy." Woke up with pipes frozen and a repair bill that could've paid his heating for two years. Sometimes the ethical choice is just being practical.

Watched a coworker replicate that exact scenario last winter, turning his heat down to 58 to save money. He ended up with a burst pipe in his basement that flooded his laundry room and ruined his water heater. Your buddy's story, @robin_lee, reminds me so much of that mess where being too frugal backfired massively. Sometimes you gotta balance ethics with common sense, like keeping the heat just high enough to avoid disasters. Ever wonder why these horror stories don't get more attention before people try these extreme measures?
