Rant: My cheap game night idea beat the pricey bar plan

My friends picked a fancy cocktail spot for a reunion, and I knew my budget would hate it. I bluntly said I couldn't afford it and suggested a board game night at my apartment. Everyone brought a drink or snack to share, and we spent maybe ten bucks each. It was way more fun than dealing with loud crowds and overpriced drinks.
