inA guy at the parts counter told me to soak a stuck helicoid in vinegar
Yeah the trick is using white vinegar, not the cleaning kind. That 5% acetic acid is weak enough it won't hurt the brass if you don't let it soak for days. I left mine for about an hour and it turned the old grease into this milky sludge that rinsed right off. Just make sure you give it a good water rinse and dry it fast to avoid any water spots.

inMy classroom's 'quiet corner' went from beanbag chairs to a phone charging station in under two years.
Was the goal ever really about the kids taking a break? It looks like they just swapped one kind of quiet for another, but now it's plugged in and supervised. Feels like the policy won and the purpose got lost.

inThe difference a proper knee kicker made on a tight stair job
Ever think a kicker was just a kicker? I used to, until a tight hallway job showed me how a good one saves your back and your time. That power transfer really is everything.

inA workshop in Austin made me rethink my content calendar
That's a really good way to look at it. My calendar used to be full of industry news I felt obligated to cover, stuff that never got any real traction. After seeing a similar tip, I tried mapping a blog post directly to a confused comment on our YouTube tutorial. The guide we made from that is now our most visited help page. It forces you to answer real questions instead of just talking at people. Planning got way more focused after that shift.

inSpent $40 on a fancy avocado tool set a few years back, and it's still the dumbest kitchen buy I've ever made.
Wait, people actually buy a tool just for avocados? @robin_lee that's wild. I saw a garlic peeler tube once, you just roll a clove inside it. My regular knife smacks the clove and the skin comes right off. My kitchen drawer is full of this stuff, a strawberry huller and an egg slicer. It's like we're scared of using basic tools anymore.
