inI was looking at some old star photos from the 90s and the detail is crazy
Exactly. The funny thing is, the engineers had to design a whole new way to point the telescope just to get that image. Hubble had that crippling mirror flaw that made everything blurry at first, so they had to do complex computer corrections before they could even point it at that tiny empty patch of sky for ten days straight. The detectors themselves were basically glorified black and white TV cameras compared to what's on JWST now. It's like comparing a flip phone to a modern smartphone, but that flip phone photo still changed astronomy overnight.

@theasmith bet you could use the same trigger signals to spot at-risk accounts before they churn.

inMy wife told me I kept pausing shows to check my phone and it ruined the vibe for her
Ended up doing the same thing with my gf lol. She said I was being a zombie just scrolling through stuff and not actually watching with her, so now the phones go face down on the coffee table and honestly the shows are way better.

inSaw a huge difference in tent waterproofing after using seam sealer vs not using it over 2 years
My buddy bought a Kelty tent last year and didn't even think to check the tape. First rainy trip he woke up with a puddle in his sleeping bag, not fun. He called me all frustrated and I told him to just grab some seam sealer and do it himself. Took him maybe 45 minutes in his garage, said the smell was awful but at least his next trip was bone dry. You ever have to dry out a wet bag on a trip, that's the worst.

inSpent $120 on a fancy baking scale and I wish I bought it years ago
Read on Serious Eats that expensive scales use better strain gauges.
