Ugh, that's the worst. Got the same line on a landscape piece last month. They said it looked "pretty but random," like I just hit a button. Stung for days.

What did they mean by "random," exactly? That word gets thrown around a lot without much thought behind it. It's a lazy way to dismiss the choices an artist makes.
