My AI art generator decided my cat was a sentient blob of cheese

Last Tuesday I was messing around with this free AI art tool trying to get a nice portrait of my tabby cat Mittens. I typed in 'orange tabby cat sitting on a windowsill' and hit generate. Instead of a cat, the thing spat out this glowing yellow lump with weird eye swirls that looked like cheddar cheese. It was so ridiculous I honestly laughed for 5 minutes straight. Has anyone else's AI completely misinterpreted a prompt into something just bizarre?

Read an article about how training data for these generators gets scraped from all over the internet. Seems like a lot of cat photos get mislabeled as food or objects if the image tags are bad. Probably a database from some stock photo site that tagged a yellowish cat as cheese flavored treat packaging. A friend told me his prompt for a black labrador came out looking like burnt toast once.

What finally worked for me was being super specific with my prompts, like describing the shape and texture instead of just the breed. For example, @taylor_young I typed 'rectangular black object with rounded edges' for a burnt toast looking lab and it came out way better lol. Took some trial and error but now I basically write prompts like I'm explaining a picture to someone who can't see it. Adding weird adjectives like 'glossy' or 'matte' helped too.
