inUsed to think guest posts were the only way to build links. Then I tried actual content partnerships.
My buddy spent $400 on guest posts last year and half of them got deleted within a few months when those blogs changed hands or updated their policies. Meanwhile his .edu link from a local university's career page has been sitting there for 2 years now with no issues. It's like that old saying about building on solid ground versus sand - the slow way almost always lasts longer.

inMy nephew asked why I still use manual chalk lines over laser levels
Don't you find old school tools just work better when things get rough?

inFinally passed my code welding test after 3 tries
Cracked a smile reading this (and not just because I've got the weld spatter scars to prove it). My trick for keeping cool on test floors is to pretend I'm just fixing a leaky pipe in a janitor's closet at 2am, not trying to impress some inspector with a clipboard. That mental switch helped me stop shaking so much, though I still burned through three pairs of gloves from sweating. Great job on passing, nothing beats that feeling of hearing the grinder stop and knowing you finally nailed it.

inPro tip: I think everyone's wrong about using a 4-foot level for everything
Saw a roofer spend an hour leveling a ridge vent that a chalk line would've fixed in five minutes flat.
