The $35 ultrasonic parts cleaner I scoffed at actually works

My old timer coworker in Tulsa kept pushing this cheap ultrasonic cleaner for fuel injectors, and I figured it was junk since it cost less than a good lunch. Last month I ran a set of sticky injectors through it for 20 minutes and they bench tested within spec, which floored me. I had been soaking parts in solvent for years and getting so-so results, so I finally understand why he laughed at my spray can method. It won't replace a real flow bench, but for small carb bits and injector screens it's been solid on three jobs now. Has anyone else found a cheap tool that surprised them after they swore it was a gimmick?

Dude same here. Picked up a $40 heated one on a whim for cleaning my dirt bike carb and it worked way better than the gallon of carb cleaner I've been drowning parts in for years. Now I'm side-eyeing every cheap tool in my box like it might secretly be legit.
