inTook me 45 minutes to pull a single shoe because I forgot my nippers
Oh man, the "forgot my nippers" pain is real (I've done that exact thing). I once spent 25 minutes looking for my hoof pick before realizing it was in my back pocket the whole time. The horse just stood there, one leg up, looking at me like I was the dumbest human alive. Had to laugh at myself, then walk back to the truck again. At least your horse was patient, mine started stomping and I nearly lost my chance to get the shoe off clean.

inThat one homeowner in Seattle who ruined my subfloor prep forever
Free advice from someone who actually lives in the house is a gamble, not a guarantee. Sure, they might know where the water shuts off without looking, but half the time they're just guessing or telling you what worked for their cousin's house in a different state. I've had homeowners swear their leaky faucet was "an easy fix" and it turned into a three day plumbing nightmare. The problem is most people confuse "this worked for me" with "this is the professional standard for your specific situation." You're still better off paying a real pro for a checkup before you sink money into anything major. Free advice is only cheap because it costs you nothing upfront, not because it's worth anything.

inChanged my mind about hostels after a stay in Porto
Ngl I saw this article a while back about how hostels with organized group stuff like dinners or walking tours always get way better reviews lol. It makes sense though, like that social setup is probably the difference between meeting people and hiding in your bunk.
