The torque wrench I used for 12 years finally got retired last Tuesday
I mean, it wasn't even the fancy electronic kind, just an old Craftsman click type. Last month I sent it in for calibration and it came back reading 10 foot-pounds low across the whole range. That thing did thousands of wheel installs and engine work on 737s without ever complaining. The new Snap-on digital one is nice but I still catch myself reaching for the old spot on the cart. Has anyone else had a tool that just felt like part of the job until it didn't?

Retired my old torque wrench after 15 years of beatings, and it still bugs me every time I pass the empty peg. New one beeps and lights up like a Christmas tree, but the old girl just clicked and told you the truth. Guess some tools earn their retirement, just like some of us earn our bad knees. Glad yours got a proper send-off at least, mine went to the junkyard with a broken beam.
