Why does nobody talk about how subs spoil the punchline before the joke lands
I used to be a hardcore subs guy for 12 years. Then my sister made me watch all of Nichijou dubbed on a road trip to Phoenix. I counted 14 jokes in episode 3 that I flat out missed on subs because I was reading instead of watching the faces. The delivery on the punchline hit way harder when I could see the timing. I still think subs win for drama with serious dialogue, but for comedy dubs are not even close. Has anyone else flipped sides on this, or is it just me?
