A zip tie saved the day on a slow-draining dishwasher

I was at a job where the dishwasher kept leaving water in the tub. The home owner thought the pump was bad. I listened to it run and the pump sounded okay. I pulled out the filter and it was full of gunk. After cleaning that, I checked the drain hose. With a zip tie, I cleared a small clog that was hiding deeper in. Now it drains fast and quiet. It's funny how often the issue is just a simple blockage. Who needs fancy tools when a zip tie works?

Zip ties might work once, but they're a band-aid fix at best. You'll end up calling a pro when it snaps off.

My friend Alex in Denver used zip ties on his truck bumper last winter. He hoped it would last a few months, but it broke in two weeks. The bumper fell off while he was driving on the freeway. Honestly, he had to call a tow truck and pay for a real repair. Tbh, that cheap fix ended up costing him more money. Ngl, I won't use zip ties for anything serious after seeing that.

Sounds like bad luck more than a zip tie problem.
