Had a real 'aha' moment with those new LG washer drain pump filters

I used to just clear the obvious gunk, but after a service call for a slow drain, I started pulling the whole filter housing and checking the impeller for hair wraps, which fixed it. Anyone else notice these newer models clogging differently than the old ones?

My LG's manual never mentioned checking the impeller for hair. That seems like a major design flaw they just ignored. I can't believe you need a service call to learn that basic fix.

Actually @the_wren, the manual for mine did have a small note about checking for blockages. It was just buried in the back with the error codes. Still a pain to find though.

Manuals are basically useless these days. My new coffee maker had a whole page on recycling the box but zero info on resetting the brew cycle. Had to dig through a random blog post to find the button combo. They make this stuff way harder than it needs to be.
