inHad to pick between a 12-hour anime binge or my friend's wedding...
Your face against the window is a whole mood. I once tried to watch a finale at a family birthday dinner, hiding my phone under the table. My grandma caught me and gave a toast about how we're all glued to screens now. I missed the villain's defeat for a lecture on manners.

inShoutout to the old hand-cut dovetail jig I bought in 2003
Honestly, the old jig taught me more about wood movement and grain direction than the CNC ever could... you feel the resistance in the cut. Still pull it out for teaching my kid the basics, even if it's slow.

inMy weekly spread used to be a total mess, now it actually works
Totally get that about the mess making sense. I see this everywhere now, like how people hate those perfectly staged Instagram rooms because they feel fake. Your brain wanting things to flow together is just a better fit for how actual life happens, not those separate boxes.

inUnpopular opinion: I started using a cheap voltage tester on every old panel I open.
Seriously, you're just wasting time doing that.

inI used to think fish tape was a waste of money
Holly Shah, that straightened paperclip method is exactly how we all start. It teaches you the basic feel of fishing a wire before you get the real tool. I still keep a heavy duty paperclip in my bag for quick little jobs. Once you move up to actual walls, though, you really need the proper fish tape. The cheap stuff just doesn't have the right stiffness to push through insulation.
