Had to pick between a 12-hour anime binge or my friend's wedding...
My buddy got married in Chicago last Saturday, the same day the final episodes of my favorite show dropped. I chose the wedding, obviously, but I set my phone to record the whole thing and watched it on the train ride home. Fell asleep halfway through episode 3 and woke up with my face against the window... totally missed the big fight scene. Has anyone else ever had a major anime release clash with a real life event you couldn't skip?

Your face against the window is a whole mood. I once tried to watch a finale at a family birthday dinner, hiding my phone under the table. My grandma caught me and gave a toast about how we're all glued to screens now. I missed the villain's defeat for a lecture on manners.

Feel your pain on missing the big moment. My aunt once gave a full speech about living in the present while I was secretly trying to see if my favorite character survived a cliffhanger. I got the moral high ground but had to wait three hours to find out who lived.

Respect your grandma for calling it out. Sometimes we need to put the phone down and be with people. Missing one show won't kill you.
