inJust realized my 'free' walking tour in Prague turned into a 4-hour guilt trip because I didn't know the expected tip amount was $15 per person.
Oh man, I feel this in my soul. My last "free" tour ended with me doing the awkward pocket-pat like I forgot my wallet, just to escape the guide's sad eyes. The savings vanish when you're calculating if you can ever show your face in that city square again. Honestly, I'd rather just know the price up front and save my social energy for trying to order food I can't pronounce.

inLogged my 10,000th hour on the CRJ-700 this morning
Ten thousand hours is a lot, but is it really that special for a career pilot? People put crazy time into all sorts of jobs without making a big deal of it. It just seems like a normal part of the job after a while, doesn't it?

inPro tip: My old way of pulling wire through long conduit runs was killing my back
Come on, that plastic bag trick is a total gamble. Half the time it gets stuck on a coupling or some debris in the pipe. I've wasted more time fishing out a stuck bag than just pushing a steel tape through. For a straight run maybe, but on any real job with bends, muscle and a good fish tape is still the only sure way.

inA client in her 70s told me she stopped coloring her hair three years ago
That line about "working with what they have" is the whole thing, right? It's not just about gray hair. Like, maybe someone has crazy waves they've been flat ironing for years. Do you push a smoothing treatment, or show them a cut that actually makes those waves look good? It changes the whole talk from fixing a problem to finding a style that fits the person already there.
