Logged my 10,000th hour on the CRJ-700 this morning

The logbook entry just hit different, you know? It's wild how much of that time was spent on just the landing gear rigging checks. What's the one airframe you've spent the most time on, and what's the job you've done on it a hundred times?

Actually, that's total flight time, not just maintenance hours! Still a huge number to hit though.

Ten thousand hours is a lot, but is it really that special for a career pilot? People put crazy time into all sorts of jobs without making a big deal of it. It just seems like a normal part of the job after a while, doesn't it?

Ten thousand hours on one type, that's a serious chunk of your life right there. Was it all with the same airline, or did you bounce around different operators to build that time? I've put my own crazy hours into the 737 Classic, mostly the -300. The job I could do in my sleep is swapping out those middle cabin window shades, the ones passengers always seem to break. You get into a rhythm with a specific airframe, and the little jobs just become part of you. Congrats on the big number, that's a real thing to see in the logbook.
