Honestly? It's just salt water lol. Pasta water being "like the ocean" is basically standard cooking 101, not some life changing revelation from a wise line cook. Marco sounds like he was just being extra for the sake of being extra. But hey, if it made you feel good about your pasta, I guess that's cool.

inGot told I talked about my ex too much on a date, so now I keep a mental timer for how long I let myself vent about past stuff.
Actually dealt with something similar with a friend last year... @violatorres is right that people just want a witness sometimes. Gently tell her she's gotta process that stuff with a therapist or a journal, not on a first date. Save the cat stories for after you've gotten the bad stuff out, you know?
