Just realized I wasted a whole day on a job because I tried to save $30 on a different seam tape
I mean, I've always used the standard hot melt stuff, right? But last week I had this big open floor in a new build, maybe 800 square feet of berber. The supply house was out of my usual brand, and the guy offered me this 'heavy duty' acrylic tape for like ten bucks less per roll. Figured I'd give it a shot. Big mistake. The hold was weak from the start, and after we rolled it, I could feel a slight ridge on every single seam. Had to go back the next day, pull up all the seams, clean off the old glue, and redo it with the proper tape. The extra labor and trip cost me way more than that thirty bucks I 'saved'. Has anyone else had a seam tape totally fail on them like that? What brands do you trust for big areas?
