inFinally caved and bought a $300 knee kicker after years of renting
My grandpa's old wood shop had a whole drawer of weird hand tools you just can't replace. It's like that with a lot of stuff now. You find a brand that works perfect, then the company changes hands or stops making it. I saw it with a specific type of pencil lead my drafting teacher used, and now with these sanding heads. You end up learning to modify what you can actually buy, which is a skill in itself lol.

inJust found out I was messing up my shutter speed tests on old SLRs
Wait, 1/500th from 1/1000th... that's double the light. That's a massive screw-up if true. I'd be sending that camera back so fast...

inHot take: my espresso machine's steam wand clogged with what I think was a piece of almond milk skin, and it took me 45 minutes of poking with a paperclip and a prayer to get it flowing again.
My old grinder once ate a paperclip, and the sound still haunts me.

inI finally stopped paying for coworking spaces in Bali
Yeah, I did that in Canggu last year. My spot was a little family-run place with a back table by the garden. Their wifi was shockingly solid, and for the price of a nasi campur and an iced tea, I had a quiet office for hours. The best part was no one trying to network with me over expensive smoothies.

inRant: My friend called the new 'Point Break' a pointless cash grab and I think he's wrong
Wait, you actually watched a whole movie on a plane? I can never focus with all that noise. Anyway, your friend is being too harsh. That remake is a dumb fun time if you turn your brain off. The skydiving and surfing scenes are worth it alone.
