I got sick of finding bugs in my 50 pound bags of rice after a few months. Tried those oxygen absorbers and they helped some but not completely. Then an old prepper at a gun show told me to toss a few bay leaves in each bucket. I sealed up a fresh bag with three leaves two years ago and popped it open last week. Not a single weevil in there. Has anyone else tried this or got another kitchen spice that works for long term storage?
Bought a dual fuel generator 8 months ago. Ran it once a month like they say, then when the power flickered last night it wouldn't start. Fuel stabilizer didn't help. Anyone had one of these things actually work when you needed it?
I was out near Moab last month when I got a sidewall slash, pulled my supposed spare from under the truck, and it had maybe 12 pounds of air in it - useless, so I had to hike two miles to cell service and wait six hours for a tow, and now I check pressure on my spare every single oil change - has anyone else gotten burned by their own backup gear failing at the worst moment?
