Just realized my old dryer pressure test was wrong for years

A customer pointed out I was using the wrong PSI setting on my manometer for gas dryers back in March. I had been reading specs from a 2012 manual that didn't match the newer models. Has anyone else caught themselves following outdated procedures that a customer or installer schooled you on?

Had a similar thing with a customer who brought in a 2023 manual for a model I'd been servicing off a 2015 spec sheet. Turns out they changed the venting setup entirely and my readings were off by a good 0.3 inches WC. Embarrassing but good catch on their part.

Was that 0.3 off high or low though?

My Aprilaire 8820 manometer was off by 0.2 inches WC for almost a year before a Lennox installer caught it during a warranty call. He pulled up the latest service bulletin on his phone showing the corrected spec range for that model. Felt like a dummy but fixed it the same day.
