Found out my local library offers free museum passes after I paid $45 at the door
Last Saturday I took my kid to the science museum downtown and dropped $45 on admission. Then my neighbor told me the library right down the street has free passes you can check out just like books. I went to the library yesterday and grabbed a pass for next weekend, no cost at all. Has anyone else found stuff like this at their library that nobody talks about?

Oh geez, I gotta be honest this one rubs me the wrong way a little bit. Libraries are great and all, but those museum passes usually come with a bunch of fine print nobody mentions. I tried this at my library and the pass only got me in on a Tuesday morning when the museum is half closed, and it couldn't be used for any special exhibits or the planetarium. Plus you have to return it in like two days or pay a huge late fee. Honestly, I'd rather just pay my $45 and go whenever I want without having to plan around a library schedule and risk forgetting to bring it back.

Right?! Ugh, the exact same thing happened to me. I was so excited to get a museum pass from my library, drove all the way downtown, and found out it only worked on a Thursday afternoon when half the exhibits were closed for cleaning. The pass literally said "general admission only" in tiny print, so no special exhibits or the big dinosaur hall my kids were hyped for. And then I was stressed the whole time about getting it back on time because the late fee was like $10 a day! I ended up paying $45 for a normal ticket anyway later that week and had a way better time.
