My 72 year old neighbor told me I was wasting my money on car washes and I finally get it
I ran into my neighbor Walt at the mailbox last Tuesday and he asked why I was always out there with a bucket and hose on Saturdays. I told him I hand wash my truck every week because I figured it keeps the paint nice, and he just laughed and said he hasn't washed his 2004 Silverado in 6 years. I thought he was kidding, but he walked me over and showed me the paint still looks fine, just dusty, and he said the old clear coat on these trucks outlasts most people's patience. Now I'm wondering if I've been spending $15 a month on soap and wax for nothing, or if he just doesn't care about his ride the way I care about mine. Has anyone else had an old timer talk them out of something they thought was important?
