My cousin the electrician swore by $9 wire strippers, I laughed until my 2nd wiring job
He said the cheap ones from the hardware store near Tacoma would nick every wire I touched, and after redoing a bathroom outlet 3 times, I finally bought the pair he uses. Has anyone else been burned by saving on tools that should cost more than a pizza?

The cheap ones nicked every wire I touched too, and I wasted a whole afternoon re-stripping stuff. Finally caved and bought a decent pair after my third trip to the hardware store, and now I get why he swore by them. It's like the $9 ones are made of butter and hate.
