Set my telescope up for 45 minutes to get a photo of Jupiter then realized the lens cap was still on.
Wasted a whole clear night last Tuesday before I looked down and saw the cap sitting there, has anyone else done something this dumb with their gear?

Did you at least leave it on there just a tiny bit loose so you could pretend you meant to do it for some kind of weird filter effect? I once drove to a dark sky spot an hour away and realized I forgot my entire tripod head, just sat there staring at the sky like a fool for 20 minutes before I gave up.
