Warning: I blew $340 on a light pollution filter that did nothing for my Bortle 8 backyard
I shoot from my driveway in Jersey City, so I figured a clip-in light pollution filter would save my nebula pics. Dropped $340 on one last spring and shot the same targets for six weeks with and without it, and the difference was almost nothing once I stacked the frames. What actually helped was just driving 70 miles west to a darker spot and taking way more subs. My neighbor keeps asking why my trunk is full of gear on random weeknights. Has anyone here found a filter that truly cuts through city glow, or is dark sky road trips the real answer?
