Customer said my wire routing looked "lazy" - changed my whole approach

Some guy at the FBO in Phoenix pointed out my harness was taking the shortest path instead of following the airframe contours. Tbh I was just trying to save time but he was right, it looked sloppy and could chafe over time. Now I spend an extra 20 minutes per panel following the structure and using proper clamps. Has anyone else had a passenger or pilot call them out on something that actually improved their work?

Ever had one of those moments where you realize your shortcut is actually the long way around? I had a guy on the ramp tell me my zip ties looked "angry" once, which I still don't fully get but it made me buy the fancy flush cutters and never look back. Now I'm that weirdo who adds an extra ten minutes just to route coax around a stiffener instead of straight across like I used to. Been burned by chafe repairs more than once, so I'll take the extra time over the "oops" call any day. What was the worst piece of criticism you actually had to admit was right?

Man, that "angry zip ties" comment is cracking me up because I totally get it. I once had a client look at a logo I'd been wrestling with for hours and just say "it looks nervous." I was so offended at first but then I stared at it and yeah, it did. The strokes were too thin and the kerning was all over the place like it was trying to apologize for existing. Redid the whole thing with some weight to it and suddenly the client loved it. Sometimes the weirdest critiques cut straight to the truth even if you gotta decode them first.
