Ghosted after 7 great dates, then he sent a 2 page apology on my work email
So I met this guy through a friend in Austin, we clicked instantly. Seven dates over three weeks, all good ones, real conversations, zero red flags. Then radio silence for five days, I figured he lost interest or met someone else. Turns out his phone died, got stolen, and he lost all contacts, so he found me through my company website and sent this novel of an apology to my work address. I should be flattered, but honestly, how do I trust someone who panics and emails my employer instead of just waiting a week and using LinkedIn? Has anyone else gotten a date apology through a weird backchannel that made it worse?
The part about him emailing your work address is what gets me. I used to think that kind of grand gesture showed someone really cared, but now it just feels like a guy who can't sit with being uncomfortable for a week. A phone dying isn't a reason to skip past every normal way to reach you and go straight to your job.
