My cousin insisted the new 'Point Break' was a solid update

I watched it last night and it was so bad I actually checked my watch after 40 minutes. Anyone else have a friend who swore a remake was good, only to be deeply, deeply wrong?

My buddy Dave swore up and down the 2016 Ghostbusters was a legit funny movie. We made it a whole thing, got pizza, the works. I think we lasted maybe 35 minutes before we all just started laughing at how bad it was. He still brings it up sometimes, like "okay maybe I was wrong about that one.

The 2016 movie had a real problem with its ghosts. They weren't scary or cool, just loud CGI blobs. Remember the weird green ghost in the concert scene? It just screamed and flopped around. The original films had Slimer and the library ghost, figures with personality that felt like a real threat. This reboot never understood that simple horror-comedy balance.

Honestly felt that. I dragged my whole family to see it opening weekend, talking it up like I had inside info. Spent the whole car ride home in silence, just staring out the window while my mom patted my shoulder.
