Why does the 2010 'Clash of the Titans' remake still annoy me after a decade?

My brother-in-law from Seattle said, 'They spent $125 million to make Sam Worthington look bored,' during a holiday movie night, and I've never been able to watch it again without thinking that.

Actually, that quiet intensity was the whole point. Worthington played Perseus as a man forced into a role he never wanted, so his flatness makes sense. The script gave him a clear arc from reluctant fisherman to a leader who accepts his fate. That final scene where he refuses godhood shows a quiet resolve, not boredom.
